Bruised From Black Friday

I went Black Friday shopping for the first time this year.  My boyfriend's family and I left around 11:30p.m. on Thanksgiving and did not return home until after 9a.m. the next morning.  We made a list of all the places we wanted to go, their opening times and the order we would go to each place.

All in all, it was a successful trip.  We went to the mall first and the theme was, "Do you REALLY need it?  No?  Ok, let's go."  The lines were extremely long and we decided to not wait in them.

I made it through the entire night without a single cut, scrape or bruise.  Honestly, the crowds didn't seem too "rowdy."  I began thinking that all the hype about Black Friday was a little over-exaggerated.

Later in the afternoon on Friday, my boyfriend and I went back to Walmart to pick up a gun safe and a printer.  While in the process of loading the safe, my boyfriend went to move the printer and, in the process, knocked me in the head with it.  I can't say the bruise was anything too exciting, but none the less, it was still a bruise from Black Friday.  In my mind, the day was a success.

  1. I have never been Black Friday shopping before either. I thought about trying it this year, but I just couldn't get myself to do it. I'm very lucky though because I have gotten most of my Christmas shopping done!

  2. I loved going! I was able to get most of my Christmas shopping done for about half the price! You need to go next year! It was a lot of fun.

  3. I'm really impressed that you made it through almost unscathed! I have never gone Black Friday shopping. I've just heard too many horror stories to be brave enough to do it! I feel like it would stress me out way too much. Haha. I go shopping to relieve stress, not get it! But after reading this I might try and brave it out next year. I guess it might be worth it for some good deals. I'm glad you had such a good time!

  4. It is not stressful if you go with people you have fun with! About 4a.m. we got the giggles and could not stop!

  5. I love Black Friday shopping!!! I'm always a little overwhelmed at first but then get the hang of it. Sorry to hear you got hit in the head...but at least it was on accident and not by some crazy shopper!!!
